Do Christian Girls watch Porn?

Christian women with sexual addictions,
often deal with loads of guilt.

Christian women struggle with porn and masturbation and the issue seems to be growing. More women in your church deal with this than you probably realise. Sometimes it goes under the name 'Erotica' rather than just 'porn'. This is not just written material like 50 Shades - but rather visual, online material.

Christian women for whom this is a problem generally feel they're the only one. 'After all, isn't this supposed to be a man's temptation?' But just like there are also some men who struggle with eating disorders, we find that sin and brokenness are no respecters of gender boundaries. If this describes you or a friend, what can you do?

At first glance, it may seem like the only Christian resources out there are for dudes. But there are some for the ladies, albeit, not so much. Here's just a couple:

'No Stones' by Marnie Ferree is written by a counsellor who understands the condition from the inside out, No Stones offers practical help for those battling sexual addiction and those who want to come alongside women as they seek help.

Dirtygirlsministries.com run by Crystal Renaud is a free online resource.

Unfortunately, this is currently a taboo subject in the church - as it was for men 15 years ago. If this is an issue for you, may I suggest that you prayerfully find a mature Christian with whom you can share your struggle? One of the worst parts of sexual addiction of any type is the sense of shame that festers in the dark. Bring it to the light with trusted people as part of your path to freedom. We're only as sick as our secrets.

And leaders, when giving 'the porn talk', please don't direct it just to men.
